The Perfect Shades of Greige | Paint Colors

Elizabeth Burns Design | Greige Paint Colors - the perfect warm gray paint colors: Sherwin Williams Agreeable Gray, Benjamin Moore Revere Pewter, Benjamin Moore Balboa Mist, Behr Silver Drop, Behr Mineral, Benjamin Moore Edgecomb Gray

I am a big fan of gray wall paint. It is such a great neutral and adds a clean, modern feel to just about any space. However, I have come to learn that not all grays are created equal. We painted the majority of the Brooklyn House in a very cool gray when we first moved in (Sherwin Williams Lattice, to be exact). While it is a lovely color, it always felt a little too cold and sterile for my taste. This sent me on the hunt for a perfect greige paint color that is not too cool but also not in the "builder beige" paint color category. Here are my favorites so far. :)

Benjamin Moore Revere Pewter

This is the darkest of the colors in this post, but I think it would be just stunning in a large space that can take a somewhat darker color. This paint color is quite popular on Pinterest, and it is easy to see why! I think this color looks great when paired with thick white trim and espresso accents. I would be careful not to go too dark in furniture when using this color or else the room could seem heavy.

Benjamin Moore Balboa Mist

I think this is my favorite so far! It is light, which is great as we are typically dealing with smaller rooms. It is a pretty warm color, but I have a feeling the different kinds of light throughout the day would be very interesting with this color.

Behr Silver Drop

Ok, I may have lied. This might be my favorite. Plus, if Shea McGee says it is her favorite light gray, it must be good. :) A little cooler, but just as lovely. I feel like this paint color would be a very versatile and can appear more gray or more beige depending on what you pair it with.

Behr Mineral

This one is pretty darn close to the above two, but looks to be more purple beige than gray to me. This would be perfect if you are looking for a toned-down beige that is light and airy. It is a very pretty color and would be wonderful in a more traditional home or new construction that does already have a lot of beige.

Sherwin Williams Agreeable Gray

I think this paint color lives up to it's name quite well - it certainly is agreeable! This has more gray than beige, which I like. It isn't super dark or super light, and I think it would look fabulous just about anywhere.

Benjamin Moore Edgecomb Gray

This to me is leaning towards the beige side, and is almost a lighter version of Benjamin Moore Revere Pewter which is great if you love the color but want something a bit lighter and not as intense.

It always help me compare colors when they are side by side, so here is a little reference image. My top two favorites are Behr Silver Drop and Benjamin Moore Balboa Mist. Did I miss any other great greiges? I would love to hear what colors you love!
